Matthew Mather was a Canadian science fiction author who was born on September 28, 1969, in Sheffield, United Kingdom, and died sadly on September 13, 2022. His stories included doomsday, thriller, and mystery/suspense ones. 20th Century Fox has chosen Mather’s praised science fiction novel “Cyberstorm” for a movie adaptation. This shows how well he can combine modern technical problems with deeply human stories. Mather’s interests in hacking, nanotechnology, electronic health records, and predicting the weather before he became a writer showed how well he understood how technology affected society, which was shaped by his studies at McGill University.
